Once upon a time…

Once upon a time there was a young performing artist named Jennifer, who loved all things theatre. She found herself training and learning more about theatre at Central Washington University and meeting one of her dearest friends Blair Bybee who was a professor of Musical Theatre. After graduation Jennifer spent over twenty years performing, directing, and teaching theatre to children of all ages in Washington, Idaho, and Montana. Blair Bybee spent his time performing with the National Broadway Tour of Cats, doing national commercial work, and directing all over the world.

Jennifer always had a dream to open a youth theatre company and in the Fall of 2019, created Northwest Theatre Lab, a theatre-rich educational environment for children of all ages! Blair dreamed of creating a space for actors to work professionally both during and after college and providing a space for performers of all ages to train in musical theatre. Having worked for and with each other off and on for more than 20 years, we decided to come together and create what we wish we had available to us as a young performer.

Jennifer and Blair strive to make Northwest Theatre Lab a fun and safe theatre home, where children of all ages can explore and develop their passion for the performing arts. They both are excited to create a space to workshop new musicals and provide a place for young adult performers to work and grow their talent and resume. Jen and Blair know from experience that acting, singing, and dancing develops a strong sense of character and builds self-confidence, which allow children to achieve success and happiness throughout every stage of their lives.

Northwest Theatre Lab is built upon years professional knowledge and friendships with industry professionals. Jen and Blair hope you become part of the story at Northwest Theatre Lab, where theatre goes beyond experimentation.
